Sustainable Policy Statement


Ogilvie carries out a diverse range of construction projects for the provision of the built environment for society at large and recognises that its activities have a local, national and global impact on climate change.  We recognise that we have a corporate responsibility to ensure our business is carried out in a sustainable manner that is respectful of the environment while maintaining social and economic responsibility.

The company is committed to continually improving its sustainable performance through the setting of objectives and targets.  We are committed to proactively:

  • Reducing energy consumption
  • Increasing the re-use of materials and recycling wherever possible
  • Procuring materials from sustainable sources
  • Incorporating and using renewable energy where feasible
  • Minimising pollution, noise and dust wherever possible
  • Increasing the number of diesel and hybrid vehicles in our fleet management service
  • Working toward membership of Considerate Contractors

Ogilvie Construction Ltd is committed to actively promoting sustainability and encouraging responsible energy management and is currently working toward MCS accreditation for the installation of renewable energy technologies.  

Ogilvie Construction Ltd is committed to:

  • Encouraging clients to use renewable energy and sustainable solutions where appropriate in projects
  • Regular development, education and training of employees, suppliers and other stakeholders in sustainable practices such as using ‘energy saving mode’ on all equipment; switching off appliances when they are not in use; recycling wherever possible
  • Communication of strategies through the use of posters throughout offices and sites; toolbox talks and seminars to ensure energy awareness amongst all employees at all times
  • Utilising, where viable, materials and products from sustainable sources
  • Adopting waste minimisation techniques and good house keeping practices to ensure the most efficient use of non-sustainable resources.

The Directors will monitor Ogilvie Construction Ltd’s progress annually.
