Donald is Managing Director of Ogilvie Construction and was appointed to the Group Board in July 2013
Donald joined Ogilvie Construction in 1987, following early career development in private practice with Wilkinson Lowe, and led our commercial team as Surveying Director from 1999. Donald has a detailed working knowledge of the Ogilvie organisation and brings a wealth of directorial and operational skills to the business.
Now at the helm of Ogilvie Construction, Donald is responsible for the daily operations of a company which boasts a diverse portfolio spanning both the private and public sectors. Under Donald’s astute leadership and guidance, Ogilvie Construction’s turnover has continued to grow whilst maintaining their ability to remain customer focused and satisfy clients with excellent service delivery.
Donald has been a driving force behind our training and development programmes covering health and safety,site management and Continuing Professional Development and remains a dedicated advocate of our approach to offering opportunities and continued professional development for everyone in the business.
ICAS Chartered Accountant
John Watson is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He joined Ogilvie in 1990 and was appointed to the board in 1993. John is also the Ogilvie Group Finance Director and has overall responsibility for the financial management and treasury function of all Ogilvie Group Companies together with Pension, Insurance and Human Resources.
Prior to joining Ogilvie he had experience in leisure, engineering and retail sectors.
Martin Poole joined the senior management team at Ogilvie Construction as Pre-Construction Director.
He plays a key role in leading the pre-construction team to develop projects from inception through handover to onsite operations. Martin brings almost 25 years of experience in the Scottish construction sector across a wide range of projects, including social housing.
Operations Director - Tayside and North of Scotland
David is a key driving force behind our continued development in Tayside and the Northeast of Scotland, where he has established a strong team in our Aberdeen office that continues to deliver a wide range of construction projects.
With over 30 years’ experience in the industry, David has strong technical and practical knowledge of a wide variety of construction techniques within the leisure, commercial, education, student accommodation and social housing sectors. He started in the industry as an apprentice joiner in May 1988 and has successfully delivered construction projects across the UK.
David joined Ogilvie Construction in 2007 and prior to joining the Board led the commercial department as Senior Commercial Manager.
He has overall responsibility for the Project Surveying teams, covering a variety of Social & Private Housing, Student Accommodation, Education, Industrial, Commercial and Healthcare sectors. David has always demonstrated strong communication and leadership qualities, liaising directly with the Pre-Construction and Operational Delivery Teams to ensure a seamless Commercial transition in all aspects of the build, from inception to handover.
Operations Director - Central Scotland
Grier is responsible for the delivery of all projects across Central Scotland and has been with Ogilvie Construction since 2015.
He has over 35 years’ experience in the industry, overseeing delivery of a huge variety of projects, achieving a total focus on quality and value for clients. Grier started his career as a trainee engineer in 1985, quickly progressing into management, where his strong communication and problem-solving skills have ensured consistent delivery of complex projects on time and within budget.
