To date OCL’s housing provision has been multi tenure with a large range of specifications, uniquely tailored to the requirements of clients and their end users. We respond to local housing demand by developing homes aligned to the needs of future residents. OCL construct homes suitable for wheelchair and amenity use, for end users with additional housing needs, extra care accommodation and properties sized to suit all types of households. We also build high quality flatted accommodation and homes for general needs.
OCL recognises that climate change is emerging as one of the most serious environmental challenges currently threatening the global community. In response to the climate crisis, OCL are increasingly working with our partners to deliver Net Zero homes which operate without carbon emissions.
We adopt a fabric first approach utilising low U-value components and integrating renewable heat technology. OCL are also constructing to ‘gold’ warrant standard demanding the highest level of performance for; water heating and use; building use; home office space; noise and natural light; security; recycling.
OCL are committed to delivering benefit to the communities in which we construct homes. For every project we will tailor social value objectives to the specific needs of the local community. Our social value activities are wide ranging e.g. training and employment provision or engagement with schools, colleges and universities. We always strive to exceed the mandatory targets for community benefits.
