Kingston Quay, Glasgow

Ogilvie undertook the design and build contract for a Residential and Commercial Development at Kingston Quay in Glasgow for Barratt Construction.

Ogilvie undertook the construction of 8 one bed, 272 two bed and 92 three bed flats, together with 6 shell commercial units of 1100 ft².  The construction of administration facilities also formed part of the contract with the provision of a management office and concierge flat.  A fitness suite was also constructed for use by the residents, together with 375 basement and 11 surface parking spaces.

Due to the city centre location of the development, there was a significant element of alteration work to roads, footpaths and traffic lights outwith the site and completed without impacting on the public.

The development was constructed over 32 months.

Design and construction of Glasgow Cross

Ogilvie undertook the design and construction of Glasgow Cross, which provides residential and commercial space, in five tower blocks to accommodate the client's aspirations.  Designed by architects Gholami Baines, the Merchant Building draws upon the inspirational architecture from nearby buildings including the Mercat Building, the Bell Street Warehouses and the iconic Tolbooth.

The development comprises of 140, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, basement carparking, internal landscaped courtyard overlooking the Gallowgate, with 360 degree views of the Glasgow skyline.  The commercial units on the ground floor of the three contemporary landmark buildings assist in the regeneration of this  prominent corner of Glasgow.  This development builds on the outstanding success of the Merchant City as a centre of urban living and commerce and has assisted in extending the city centre east to connect with the Homes for the Future development at Glasgow Green.
